  • Local Missions Opportunity: Upstate Backpack Blessings (During the month of February 2016)
During the month of February, we will be collecting food to help serve students at local schools. Upstate Backpack Blessings is a volunteer-based, donation-driven organization that now provides backpacks of food to nearly 200 students each week in the following elementary, middle and high schools: Elementary: Fork Shoals, Fountain Inn, Oakview, Plain and Taylors; Middle: Bryson, Hughes, Hillcrest, Northwood, Riverside and Woodside; High School: Eastside and Hillcrest.

This ministry has a huge need for the following food items (individual, single serving items are needed- please don't bring items of large quantity like big boxes of cereal. The items need to be able to fit in a string bag): Pop tarts, grits, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast/protein bars, drinks/juice boxes, fruit/applesauce in cans or cups, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, bags of chips/crackers, Little Debbie cakes, cans/cups of spaghetti/ravioli, cans of beef stew, cans of Vienna sausage, soup, noodles, popcorn, nuts/dried fruit, fruit roll ups, canned or cups of vegetables, macaroni and cheese, pudding cups, jello cups, candy/fruit snacks, and cookies. Anything a child would eat for a snack or meal over the weekend that does not need to be refrigerated.

During the month of February, we will have drop off points located on the 2nd floor (above the CEC office) next to the elevator, and in the hallway outside the MPAC room. You can also drop off items in the Church Office during the week. Thank you for giving to help those in need!
