Homebound Ministries

Homebound Ministries focuses care on those with special needs within our church family, especially among Senior Adults.

homebound-caneThis ministry of mercy is in line with our core values which state People matter to God and therefore to us (Ministry). Our Lord Jesus reminds us, "inasmuch as you do it (show mercy) to the least of these, you do it to me" (Matthew 25: 40).

There are over 40 homebound members of our church. They live in 14 different nursing/assisted living facilities and 13 private homes! Their needs vary greatly. And they are all still part of the family.

In addition to regular visits from the Pastors and Deacons, the homebound are cared for by a group of dedicated volunteers. A number of Sunday School classes and WMU Groups have adopted homebound members to provide care for them. Many individuals also take a personal interest in the homebound by providing regular visits and relief for care-givers.

Care can be provided by:

  • praying for them
  • calling them
  • visiting them where they live
  • delivering CD's of current worship services
  • remembering special occassions like birthdays and holidays
  • delivering meals to those who live at home
  • taking time to read Scriptures with them

Members of all ages can help with the homebound. Many of them love visits from families with children!
