Generosity

Generosity is defined as the habit of giving freely and is transformational, for the giver and for the receiver.

Stewardship is the individual's responsibility to manage his life and property with proper regard to the right of others, specifically using and managing all the resources God provides for the His glory and the betterment of His creation.

Biblical stewardship means God's ownership and our partnership. Everything we have is a gift from the Lord – our time, our talents, and our financial resources.

Giving to God is a vital part of spiritual formation and maturity. It requires two things of us:

Faith

Giving is an active expression of faith. It recognizes God as the true provider. It affirms confidence in His ability to supply everything that you need. It is an act of gratitude and dependence. It allows you to partner with God and His work through the church and in your world.

Faithfulness

Giving requires the highest standard of personal integrity and discipline. It is not something to be done infrequently or casually. The Bible teaches us to give willingly, generously and cheerfully (2 Corinthians 8-9).

Giving should be a regular and systematic part of our lives. God tells us that the first tenth of our earnings are to be set aside as a gift to God (Malachi 3:10). Through our tithes and offerings, we prove faithful to the stewardship of all God has provided for us.
