First Kids

First Kids Purpose:

First Kids at our Downtown and West Campus is a discipleship based ministry designed to help children ages birth - 5th grade know God, be able to hear His voice and have the courage to follow Him.  Children will embark on their spiritual and developmental journey beginning in the First Step Room and continue to grow and develop until they reach our Student Ministry.  We also work to equip families leading children through the process of faith development.

First Kids Focus:

To help each child:

  • Associate God, Jesus, and the Bible with happy feelings.
  • To make the progress in solving problems, sharing and expressing him or herself.
  • To know that the Bible is a special book that tells about God and Jesus.
  • To think of church as my church - the happy place.
  • To begin thinking of others and adjusting to their interests.

In First Kids, every child has the right to be:

  • Known by name.
  • Loved unconditionally.
  • Taught foundational biblical truths.

First Kids Events:

  • Vacation Bible School
  • Easter Celebration
  • Camp Big Enough
  • First Grade Hoopla
  • Discovery Island Water Park

Our Foundation is Matthew 22:37-39 which says, "Jesus replied, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"  First Kids is designed not only to help children have an understanding of this verse, but to show them the great love that God has for them.

We are always available to talk with parents and children at anytime.  Thank you for allowing us to minister to your children.
